Synopsis
Petr Miller, a long-serving immigration officer in London, has his routine life disrupted by a strange call from Prague. A single mother, hospitalized after a car accident, names him as the guardian of her child, Ema, who is supposedly his daughter. Shocked and in denial, Petr doesn't believe he has a child, nor does he want one. However, he can't dismiss the possibility that Ema might indeed be his daughter and that he is her only chance to avoid a children's home. His life, accustomed to solitude, is turned upside down by living with an eight-year-old girl. Additionally, a strict social worker is on his heels, forcing Petr to make a significant decision: to become Ema's legal parent, he needs to find her a mother. Meanwhile, he meets Maria, who, like Petr, is dedicated to her work and has almost lost hope of experiencing life's simple joys. Maria decides to help them, crafting a believable story to convince the stern official. They begin a pretense of love... But how will it end? Sometimes, miracles do happen.
