Synopsis
Tomek and Ania have decided to finally get married. Ania dreams of a perfect wedding in the countryside at Tomek’s parents' place, with only their closest friends, including Ola and Bogdan, Zośka, and their newborn son, Mikołaj. The wedding planning is entrusted to Marcel, but despite his efforts, things turn out quite differently. Tomek hasn’t been in touch with his family for a long time. His mother Jadwiga greets him tearfully, as does his younger brother Wiesiek, who idolizes him, while there is clear sibling rivalry with his older brother Leszek. Tomek's father Maks is not present, as he has been wandering the world since Tomek was nine. Only Jadwiga still believes he will return one day. Ania’s mother Krystyna arrives with her much younger boyfriend Radek, whom Jadwiga initially mistakes for Ania's younger brother. When she learns the truth, she treats Krystyna very coldly. To everyone's surprise, Maks arrives, accompanied by a sullen, silent Sherpa who Maks claims he saved in Tibet. It turns out Ania invited Maks after finding him on Planet Single, hoping to reconcile Tomek with his father. However, it becomes increasingly apparent that Maks is an irresponsible liar and fraud. After the necessary bachelor party at a pub, the wedding takes place the next day. Just before entering the church, Tomek learns a shocking secret from a drunken Radek during the bachelor party—Krystyna is seriously ill and didn't tell her daughter to avoid ruining the wedding. Distraught, Ania runs away from the altar...
