Synopsis
The first adaptation of Adam Mickiewicz's poem made by the eminent pre-war director Ryszard Ordyński.
The film was conceived as a sequence of vivid images inspired by Michal Elvir Andriolli's drawings from the 1881 edition of Pan Tadeusz. Excerpts from the literary original are used in the subtitles. The film's premiere on the 10th anniversary of Poland's regaining independence was a major event attended by President Ignacy Mościcki and Marshal Józef Piłsudski. The film after digital restoration.
