Description

On the Right Track / Na dobre stope DVD
Synopsis
This adventure story, aimed at youth, is set in a scout's summer canoe camp. Eda, a boy marked by a tragic experience during the occupation, struggles to fit in with the other boys. His journey towards earning their trust and friendship culminates when he helps to uncover German saboteurs. Antonín Šůra, who played Eda, later transitioned to comedic roles. In the early 1960s, he worked at the Rokoko theater and appeared on TV, notably as mechanic Karel in the series about the robot Emil. Interestingly, the film was released only in cinemas outside of Prague, giving it a unique placement in the history of Czech cinema. The story highlights themes of camaraderie, overcoming personal trauma, and the tension of post-war Europe.
