Description
Of Parents and Children / O rodicich a detech DVD
Synopsis
Every month, forty-year-old computer graphics artist Jan Cvrček visits his seventy-year-old father Ivan, who used to work as a biologist at the zoo. Like clockwork, they embark on a long walk through Prague, discussing not only their current lives but also reminiscing about various periods of family life and recent past events. They also indulge in their shared hobby, airplanes, and share anecdotes from their surroundings. Jan tells a story about an acquaintance and his friends who decided to taste human flesh and actually did it. Ivan recalls successfully wooing a seemingly shy widow at a spa and the embarrassing end to his attempt. Both reminisce about their loves, the bitter moments of family breakdown, and the small details that drastically changed their lives. While Ivan openly expresses his desire for a grandchild, Jan reveals that he has a grown son, whose existence he was unaware of until recently. Meanwhile, Jan's twenty-six-year-old girlfriend Marta meets his twenty-five-year-old son, Robert, from Slovakia. Before both pairs part ways, significant life changes occur, although according to Ivan, nothing new has happened in the world for two billion years.
