Synopsis
The film The Cremator was directed by Juraj Herz based on the novel of the same name by Ladislav Fuks. Its protagonist, an employee at a crematorium, is an abnormal man burdened by his profession, a psychopath and maniac obsessed with the idea of a human being as a corpse and its transformation into dust and ashes. Such a mentally disturbed person can easily be seduced by the monstrous fascist ideology into committing the most terrible deeds: betraying the nation to which he previously belonged, informing, murdering, and cooperating in the mass extermination of people.
