In the Name of the King / Jmenem krale DVD
Synopsis
King Přemysl Otakar II, despite his promise, cannot attend the betrothal of Beneš of Dubé and Ludmila of Vartemberk, intended to resolve conflicts between two powerful families in northern Bohemia. He sends his investigator, Oldřich of Chlum, as his representative. On the way, Oldřich and his assistant Ota discover the bodies of a merchant and his driver from an ambush. Oldřich continues to the event while sending Commander Diviš and Ota to track the bandits. At the castle, Oldřich is greeted by Marktvart of Vartemberk and his son Marek, who express disappointment that the king did not come. During dinner, a minstrel named Arnošt accuses the bailiff Jošt of attempted assault, and Jošt is murdered that night. Beneš accuses Arnošt, but Oldřich insists on a thorough investigation. That same night, the castle lord, Marktvart, is also murdered.
