Synopsis
The tangled threads of the film's story weave a love affair between twin sisters and a young actor. Marta Hornová, a blind soloist in the radio orchestra, strikes up a relationship with actor Robert Holan from the state drama ensemble. He also meets her sister Helena, a talented sculptor, whom he mistakenly believes to be Marta. However, when he returns a blue veil to her during a meeting on Petřín Hill, supposedly lost during their encounter at the radio building, Helena realizes that Holan actually loves her sister. To not betray her sister's love or her relationship with the handsome assistant at the eye clinic, Pavel Průša, she decides to break up. Meanwhile, at the urging of her servant Karlíček, Marta undergoes a challenging eye surgery. After a successful operation, she must stay in a darkened room until fully recovered, where one day Holan finds her, invited for a visit by Helena. Marta recognizes from his expressions of love that his heart belongs, due to a fateful mistake, to her sister. The plot twists again to an unusual conclusion.
