Description
Milada
Synopsis
Milada is a film inspired by the life and fate of JUDr. Milada Horáková, a figure whose story has touched many. Set between 1937 and 1950, it narrates the life of a woman whose moral principles were so deeply ingrained that she often chose to follow her conscience over her heart, even at the risk to her own family and herself. Milada Horáková was executed on June 27, 1950, despite numerous pleas for clemency from figures like Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, and Eleanor Roosevelt to the then-President of Czechoslovakia. The film explores themes of freedom, the fight for democracy, truth, love, hope, power, and sacrifice, which remain highly relevant today. The aim of the film is to bring the character, life, and destiny of Milada Horáková to a broad audience, both in the Czech Republic and internationally.
