Synopsis
Merry Christmas Octopus, remastered from an original TV series, centers on the Holan family—parents Andrea and Honza navigating a serious marital crisis, and their children Eva and Honzík. The children own two unique octopuses, Blue and Green, made from a mysterious underwater substance. These lively and curious creatures inadvertently cause chaos, first during a holiday at their grandfather's in Lhota and then in Prague's Kampa, where the family lives. As Andrea juggles her minor singing roles at the National Theatre and Honza his truck driving job, their marriage teeters, with Honza even moving into a caravan. The children are saddened by their parents' discord, and the octopuses, understanding that Honza's travels and Andrea's singing are the root causes, try to intervene, only to complicate things further. Amidst their efforts to reconcile the Holan family, the octopuses face danger from George's scientific team, led by diver Andreadis, who is on a quest for the mysterious substance and is closely tracking the children and their unique pets. The story combines family drama with whimsical adventure, as the octopuses strive to save the marriage while evading capture.
