Synopsis
Oddsockeaters are small creatures living among humans, responsible for the fact that only one sock from every pair always remains—because they eat them! The fates of the main protagonists, the ODDSOCKEATERS, and their greatest adversary, the peculiar and lonely PROFESSOR, are intertwined with the story of the main hero, a young ODDSOCKEATER named HIHLÍK. After his grandfather LAMOR's days come to an end, HIHLÍK must overcome his fear, climb out of the window, and set out to find his uncle PADRE, of whom he had no prior knowledge. He draws courage from the values instilled in him by his grandfather—love for family, good manners, and the Oddsockeater "ten commandments." Even in his new home with his mafia uncle and two mischievous cousins, he does not abandon his ideals and principles, despite finding himself in dangerous situations. When he eventually breaks two fundamental Oddsockeater rules, "Never take the whole pair" and "Stay close to humans but keep your distance," he does so only because he believes he has exhausted all options to achieve his ultimate goal—family. The film's message can be summed up as: Family is everything! Cherish the one you have, love it, and do everything to make it good, because you won't have another in this world. And it doesn't matter if you are a human or an ODDSOCKEATER!
