Synopsis
The Cartographic Institute, where Jaroslav Dietl and Zdeněk Podskalský placed the story of the situational comedy 'Křtiny', is a quintessential enterprise of real socialism. Although not much work gets done, the employees, ranging from regular draftsmen to the deputy director, enjoy many escapades. Cartographer Hlívová compensates for the low work morale with her physical charms, draftsman Ryzec devises a cunning plan to leave for the weekend on Friday morning, deputy Humpl boasts about his new sexy secretary and organizes a hunt for a commission from the general directorate. The only exception is the settled fifty-year-old Čirůvka, who prefers to stay out of trouble, desiring neither higher positions nor romantic entanglements. However, his secretary Karolína has other ideas. She manipulates her boss into an uneven battle for Humpl's 'kitten' and the vacant director's position, unaware of the whirlwind of crazy adventures she has just triggered. This zany comedy from 1981 remains 'alive' and vibrant, spiced up with verbal humor and excellent acting performances tailored for Jiřina Jirásková, Miloš Kopecký, Dagmar Veškrnová, and Libuše Šafránková.
