Finally Alone / Konecne sami DVD
Synopsis
The troubles of a young married couple with an overly attentive mother and mother-in-law. Usually, these troubles end with a wedding, but this time, they're just beginning. Young doctor Petr Dvořák marries the charming Marta Hábová. However, their honeymoon in Venice is unexpectedly complicated by Marta's widowed mother, a wealthy, kind, but incredibly absent-minded lady. Firstly, she prevents them from crossing the border because they didn't declare the items she secretly packed for them, leading to them spending a night behind bars after she mistakenly reports the items as stolen upon catching a pair of burglars in her house. It's no wonder the young marriage soon finds itself shaken to its core. The final blow comes with Mrs. Hábová's clumsy attempt to reconcile the spouses with a well-intentioned lie. She convinces Petr that Marta is pregnant, unaware that the newlyweds, amidst the chaos of confusion and misunderstandings she herself caused, haven't had a moment alone... The film premiered at the Film Harvest in Zlín on July 3, 1940, with the official premiere following two days later.
