Create authentic Old-Bohemian trdelník (chimney cake) at home with this professional dough mix. Just add lukewarm water and oil to make a smooth, fragrant dough that bakes up golden and crisp on the outside while staying soft and fluffy inside-perfect for café-style results in your own kitchen. For easy shaping, use traditional metal tubes or a dedicated trdelník mould.
Preparation Instructions:
Combine 500 g of the mix with 250 ml lukewarm water and 50 ml oil.
Knead until smooth, cover, and let proof in a warm place for about 40 minutes.
On a floured surface, roll the dough into ropes and wrap onto forms (metal tubes, clean baby-food jars, or a dedicated mould). Leave small gaps, then gently roll to seal the wrapped dough.
Brush with melted butter and bake at 180 °C (356 °F) for 15–20 minutes, depending on how browned you want it.
While still hot, lightly brush with butter again and coat with cinnamon sugar or crushed nuts.
Tip: For larger batches, keep the same ratio: 500 g mix : 250 ml water : 50 ml oil.
