Description
The Importance of Being Earnest / Jak je dulezite miti Filipa DVD
Synopsis
Two gentlemen, Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff, had a brilliant plan! To liven up their tranquil country lives with a bit of excitement, they invented characters they must urgently visit. Jack created an imaginary brother named Philip, whom he uses as an excuse to travel to London to see the charming Gwendolen. Algernon, on the other hand, has an imaginary friend named Bunbury, who is always sick and in urgent need of his company at the hospital bedside. The situation starts to unravel when Moncrieff visits Worthing's young ward Cecily at his country estate, pretending to be Philip. When both gentlemen find themselves under the same roof, it's the perfect time to reveal how important it is to have a Philip! This famous comedy by Oscar Wilde, a staple of classic world repertoire, allows you to enjoy the witty dialogues of two cunning friends and their unique views on marriage and relationships with women. Directed by Jiří Bělka, it was filmed in 1979, starring Josef Abrhám, Jaromír Hanzlík, Libuše Šafránková, and Naďa Konvalinková in the main roles.
