Synopsis
The play Hra by Jiri Hubac, recognized at international festivals in Prague (1977) and Monte Carlo (1978), is a notable Czech TV drama. It tells a poignant story of a father's struggle with alcoholism and its impact on his family. The father, Kára, a bar musician, becomes so addicted to alcohol that it threatens his family life. His wife, unable to endure his broken promises, leaves him. Their son, Ondřej, remains the only believer in his father and persuades him to seek help. The play is acclaimed for its deep character portrayal and realistic depiction of the characters' struggles.
