Description
I, Olga Hepnarova / Ja Olga Hepnarova DVD
Synopsis
The film "I, Olga Hepnarová" tells the story of a young woman who, in 1973, drove a truck into the center of Prague and killed 8 people. She considered her act a form of societal revenge, believing that society had harmed her throughout her life. In 1975, she became the last woman to be executed in Czechoslovakia. The movie portrays Olga Hepnarová's existential drama as a tale of a solitary individual rebelling against mainstream society, culminating in tragedy with no winners or losers. It offers a perspective on both the traumatic life and the act of the main character from a certain distance, avoiding emotional bias toward Olga Hepnarová. Simultaneously, the film delves into the drama of those surrounding Olga Hepnarová, seeking to uncover the reasons behind her horrendous act of aggression.
