In this era, Czech lands emerge as an industrial hub, notably in Karlovy Vary, where Heinrich Mattoni rises as a determined businessman despite personal setbacks. The series "I, Mattoni" spans decades, portraying society's evolution against a backdrop of Mattoni's business successes and personal struggles, notably his power struggle with his wife Mina.
