Excellent.
I saw this series in W Germany in 1979 or 80: Das Krankenhaus am Rande der Stadt. It was dubbed into German which I understand. I loved it. Now I’m using it to help my study of Czech language. No English subtitles so I can’t cheat. My goodness medicine was primitive in the mid-70s as it seems to me from today’s professional perspective!
Good story, antiquated social attitudes - the treatment of women for instance - crap cars (even the Japanese ones) and the constant question for me of whether Sova got his position (and servant/housekeeper) because he was a party member or because he was good at his job. No mention of any system inadequacies or funding shortfall as bedevil all hospitals in real life. Evidently all was perfect in the communist paradise. A time capsule. It’s great!
