Synopsis
In a Victorian setting, young Paula begins to fear that she is losing her mind when lights flicker, footsteps sound in the locked attic, and other disturbing events seem visible only to her. Her sinister husband, Gregory, encourages these doubts for his own purposes. Directed by George Cukor, this psychological drama stars Ingrid Bergman, Charles Boyer, Joseph Cotten, Dame May Whitty and Angela Lansbury in her film debut.
