Synopsis
Hairdresser Žofka Stárková perhaps desires fame more than other girls. Her fiancé František's modest plans fail to satisfy her vivid imagination. Žofka's sudden popularity comes when she discovers the dead body of the famous tenor Helbich on a quest for an autograph and is arrested on suspicion of murder. Helbich actually committed suicide because he lost his voice. Upon her release from prison, Žofka receives an offer for the lead role in an upcoming film. Dubious fame confuses her. She leaves her parents' modest apartment and quits the hair salon. Unfortunately, it becomes clear soon that she lacks any talent for acting, and the desperate director has the film edited in a way that practically erases Žofka from it...
