Florian DVD
Synopsis
Every week, a mobile chapel dedicated to Saint Florian is relocated between the villages of Zbořov and Spáňovice. Farmer Florián Jírovec, tired of providing his horses for the task, supports the idea of building a proper chapel in Zbořov. Saint Florian himself visits him one night and rewards his efforts with a miracle: a golden rope from heaven that can control the weather. Jírovec impresses his fellow villagers with precise weather forecasts, but his abilities are ridiculed by the local elite. However, when he predicts snow, secretly triggered by his wife Markyta, Jírovec gains fame. As people in his village protest against the constant weather changes, offended Jírovec lets it rain only on his land, creating a heavenly garden that becomes a pilgrimage site. Suitors become interested in Baruška, Jírovec's daughter, but she loves Václav and rejects aristocratic life. Baruška reveals the miracle to Václav, who cuts the rope at night, returning everything to normal.Theodor Pištěk and Eman Fiala, portraying football enthusiasts Manda and Jeníček, evoke their characters from the successful older film "Men offside" (1931).
