Synopsis
In this heartwarming tale, let's journey back to our childhoods, a time when a simple rainbow marble could transform the world into a wonderland of colors and imagination. Such a marble plays a central role in this delicate story of life's wisdom and kindness. It all begins quite ordinarily, as busy parents (J. Brousková and P. Pospíchal) take their son (F. Novotný) to visit relatives in Southern Bohemia. Young Milan is most intrigued by his grandfather (L. Tokoš), about whom he has heard many stories at home, most frequently that he behaves like a "little boy." As far as first impressions go, he certainly doesn't disappoint. Arriving with his parents, Milan witnesses his uncle Václav and aunt (A. Kohuth and M. Špánková-Hozová) chasing a piglet around the yard. Ferda isn't just an ordinary pig destined for the dinner table; he's also Grandpa's friend. Grandpa occasionally lets him out of the pen for a run. This marks the beginning of a story that explores how old age, which "moves slowly but gives wise advice," helps the young ones learn to appreciate each day, see and recognize beauty (perhaps with the help of a rainbow marble) that others might not see or see differently.
