Synopsis
Flying with a ghost in search of happiness! Viktor Preiss stars as a mysterious ghost in a lavish fairy tale about a lovestruck young man, a beautiful princess, and a pile of gold that ultimately nobody needed... One stormy night on Gibbet Hill, a wanderer named Vojta (F. Skopal) stumbles upon a treasure guarded by a mysterious ghost in the underground. Startled, Vojta flees but not before pocketing a small fire striker and a few gold coins. Soon after, he is robbed of these in a strange inn. There, he also learns of a beautiful princess (V. Kubařová) who never leaves her castle. When Vojta finally uses the fire striker, he unwittingly summons the ghost (V. Preiss), who must now serve him, drastically changing his life. Upon Vojta's wish, the ghost brings the sleeping princess to him, and he immediately falls in love with her. Wanting to be with her always, Vojta is gladly assisted by the ghost, who has grown fond of Vojta and reflects on how he wasted his own former life. Just as the story heads towards a happy ending, a greedy court lady (J. Bohdalová) discovers the secret of the fire striker and is determined to do anything to obtain it…
