Description
The Rain Fairy / Destova vila DVD
Synopsis
Air, Fire, Earth, Water – the four elements and their ruler, the Sun, are angered by the experiences of the Rain Fairy during her journey through the human world. People only care about wealth and money, with no regard for love and helping others. Among them is the richest farmer in the region, Lakota (M. Donutil), whose son Ondra (J. Gottwald) loves the poor girl Květuška (V. Kerekes). However, since Květuška would bring no dowry, Lakota forces Ondra to marry the wealthy heiress of a brewery. When the elements return to the Sun, they demand harsh punishment for humanity. The Sun hesitates, as it still loves the people despite their faults, but is overruled. In the last moment, the Rain Fairy (L. Vlasáková) offers to punish the people herself and takes away the rain. The land suffers from drought, crops fail, and hay is nearly burnt. Lakota seizes the opportunity and promises Ondra that he can marry Květuška if she can bring back the rain. Květuška then sets out to find the Rain Fairy and must complete three daunting tasks. Even after succeeding, her happiness with Ondra is not guaranteed, as Lakota remains incorrigible. But don't worry, in the end, goodness and love prevail, as they always do in fairy tales.
