Synopsis
The film "Brothers" tells one of the greatest stories of the Cold War, focusing on the resistance group led by brothers Josef (played by Oskar Hes) and Ctirad Mašín (portrayed by Jan Nedbal). In Communist-controlled Czechoslovakia, the Mašín family becomes a target of persecution. Inspired by their father, a hero of the anti-Nazi resistance, the brothers believe that the only way to fight against the dictatorship is with arms. They are also aware of their responsibilities towards their mother (Tatiana Dyková Vilhelmová) and sister (Karolína Lea Nováková). They establish a resistance group responsible for numerous violent acts, which leads to an investigation by Captain Koller (Stefan Konarske) of the State Security. The Mašíns become the most wanted men in the country. They attempt to flee to West Berlin, intending to join the American army with the aim of liberating Czechoslovakia. The search for the five members of the resistance group continues in East Germany, sparking one of the largest manhunts in modern history. The story of the film "Brothers" stirs intense emotions and is a significant topic in Czech history.
