Description
A thousand year old bee 1+2 / Tisicrocna vcela 1+2 DVD
Synopsis
The Millennial Bee (Tisicrocna vcela) is a captivating Slovak epic directed by Juraj Jakubisko, based on the bestselling novel by Peter Jaroš. Following the Pichanda family over 30 years, the film chronicles their struggles for a dignified life, happiness, and purpose at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The message of finding freedom and meaning in the most mundane and impoverished life, especially conveyed by Jozef Kroner's character Martin Pichanda, is still relevant today. The film, praised for its striking imagery and powerful message, received numerous international awards, including the La Fenice Award at the 1983 Venice Film Festival. A four-part television edit was also created.
