A Song About the Gray Pigeon / Piesen o sivom holubovi DVD
Synopsis
A Song About the Gray Pigeon / Pieseň o sivom holubovi is a Slovak anthology film set in the mountains during the final days of World War II. Directed by Stanislav Barabáš and based on an award-winning screenplay by Albert Marenčin and Ivan Bukovčan, the film comprises six interconnected stories seen through the eyes of three village boys—Rudko, Vinco, and Martin. While the Slovak National Uprising serves as the backdrop, the film poignantly explores the horrors and futility of war through the innocence of its young protagonists. This modern and groundbreaking cinematic work remains a cornerstone of Slovak cinema, acclaimed both domestically and internationally.
