Description
The Good Plumber / Instalater z Tuchlovic DVD
Synopsis
Forty-year-old Luboš Cafourek is a distinctive plumber from the village of Tuchlovice near Prague. He is skilled and honest, always ready to handle any job without hesitation. Luboš doesn’t own a car; he travels to his customers by bike, bus, or hitching rides. He doesn’t use a mobile phone; his mother handles his calls as well as cooking, shopping, doing his laundry, managing his accounting, and running the entire household. Luboš always has a quirky and witty response to everything, but practical and social aspects of life seem to slip through his fingers. He struggles to charge properly for his work, often fixing things for friends for free, and quickly spends what he earns on food for stray cats or gambling it away. Luboš tends to postpone dealing with unpleasant tasks to "later" or "we'll see." All his attempts at interacting with women end in failure, and his mother’s attempts to help him find a partner are futile. "Instalatér z Tuchlovic" is a village comedy about a man who can fix anything for everyone else but can’t manage his own life.
