Description
The third book in the Galician Saga covers the events of 1923–1928. On March 15, 1923, in Paris, it is decided to place Eastern Galicia, where the Ukrainian population predominates, under Polish rule. Not everyone accepts the decision. Polish military settlers arrive in Galician territories, the number of Ukrainian schools falls following the so-called “school plebiscite”, and Ukrainians are dismissed from the civil service. In response, experienced veterans who have fought for their homeland unite: some join the Ukrainian Military Organization and continue the armed struggle, some seek to overcome the advance of Polish settlers by creating cooperatives, and others search for happiness overseas. Life scatters the characters across different countries and divides them according to different ideologies. They are not yet at war with one another, but what will happen next remains uncertain.
