Description
The Man Without Qualities was written between 1930 and 1942 and was interrupted by the author's death. The main characters of this monumental tragicomedy are: Ulrich, the man without qualities, the idealistic mathematician, the sarcastic observer; Leona and Bonadea, the two loves of the mathematician, overshadowed by Diotima, the mastermind of the "Parallel Action" and a woman whose stupidity is only comparable to her beauty; and Arnheim, the man with qualities, a Prussian millionaire whose conversation fluctuates between modern techniques of artificial insemination and medieval Bulgarian carvings.
