Everyone who loses someone close must come to terms with grief and emptiness. A mother whose child has died suffers differently from a woman saying a final goodbye to the man she loves. Adjusting to a new situation is often difficult, sometimes impossible, although death can also allow the living to begin a new stage of life. Through his work, Mamiya Shinjuro helps the living survivors more than the dead. At one point, he too needs understanding and acceptance, and on his journey he meets an eccentric and extraordinary person. This Czech-language comic is by Mitsukazu Mihara, whose work is known for its strong contrasts, Gothic style and links to Japanese literature. Mihara also contributed illustrations and short, self-contained comics to Gothic & Lolita Bible, and her work has been published in the United States, Korea and Germany.
