Description
The Embalmer is a story about death, or rather about what people feel when someone close to them is dying: sadness, grief and indignation. Painfully experienced realities are difficult to describe. Embalming human remains gives the living an opportunity to say goodbye and helps them preserve the best possible memories of the dead. For Mamiya Shinjuro, being an embalmer means more than simply having a job. The gratitude of the deceased’s family members and the feeling of doing something important and positive are the rewarding sides of the profession. There is also a negative aspect, arising from living with death every day. In 2007, a television series based on the comic was produced and broadcast by TV Tokyo. The contents are in Czech.
