Description
The world is immersed in confusion. Just as populist waves increasingly clash with democratic structures - most visibly in the USA after Donald Trump's re-election - nationalist and extremist political forces threaten the progress made over decades of effort. How did we get here? And how do we heal the fractures in our society and seek a vision for a new direction? Philosopher Ken Wilber (1949-) in his book The Post-Truth World attributes the responsibility for this situation primarily to the progressive parts of the social spectrum, which today stand at the forefront of cultural leadership. We owe this current a number of important shifts, but what acts as a problem in social dynamics is the prism of "politically correct" elitism through which all other parts of society are viewed. Adding to this the post-pandemic destabilization of relationships, growing techno-economic pressures, and general existential uncertainty and anxiety creates a truly explosive mix. Despite all the anger, frustration, and increasing polarization, however, there is reason for hope. The way forward begins with healing the progressive cultural elite and creating space for a new integral evolutionary force, whose combined action can lead us from chaos to greater wholeness.
