Description

The ultimate goal of human endeavor is happiness. However, despite external progress, it still eludes us. This essay shows how all one-sided goals turn into illusions. Global phenomena are interconnected through humans, through the human psyche, like connected vessels. Sustainable progress can only advance in balance. Only the progress of values is permanent. One-sided technical measures without moral aspiration always bring progress at the cost of regression in another area. One-sided programs throw society into cycles. Every technological advancement or natural wealth must be balanced with virtues. Work has a deeper meaning than just a livelihood; it integrates a healthy psyche and is a source of human dignity. Technological unemployment cannot be solved by a prosperous society. Humanity, relieved from material production through robotization, must find a new reference point in the world of ideas that provides objective feedback. Otherwise, a pseudo-world grows, along with new ailments that will again consume all benefits. Ethics must be integrated into the economy as a real productive force. Happiness stems from mental processes that do not depend on the technical form of the world.
