The main character of the entire book is a little girl named Rozárka.
One evening, her grandfather tells her a story about a shining chest, in which sailor Jack discovers a box on the beach. Inside is a ship's log showing the way to treasure. Jack sets out for it and in the end truly discovers the most valuable treasure on Earth.
However, Rozárka has no idea what that treasure could be. Therefore, with the help of the ship's log, she embarks on an adventurous journey. She becomes sailor Rose and gradually gets to know not only the ship but also herself. She creates her own ship's log and goes through a journey leading to self-discovery.
