Description
Bohumil is a taciturn old man, currently the caretaker of a cemetery. He was born into a world that was still understandable. A world that could be taken apart, repaired, and put back together. Bohumil deeply wishes that interpersonal relationships could be as simple. But can a person tear down the foundations they have built for over 70 years overnight? ***** One November night, Bohumil does the right thing, which he believes everyone would do. Unfortunately, the police have a different opinion. When the media picks up the incident, Bohumil's previously carefully organized life begins to shake at its foundations. At the same time, mayoral elections are approaching in Prague. Two main rivals strut around like roosters in a dump, but Bohumil has completely different worries. How is it possible that two new apartment buildings are rising outside his windows, in a nature reserve? And how is it that the building authority approved them when it refuses to certify his tiny, self-built house? However, when Marie, a young mother of two curious boys, enters his life, these questions must be set aside. A lady in distress always needs help. Christmas is approaching, and with it, the shadows of the past begin to surface, shadows we would rather keep inside and continue pretending are not ours.
