The book Lightning Network: Payments of the Future by Michal Novák is the first Czech publication and only the second in the world dedicated to this revolutionary payment technology in the second layer above Bitcoin. The Lightning Network allows for faster and cheaper transaction settlements and is gaining importance every day. Michal Novák addresses it from all angles in his book, from a complete introduction to the issues of making payments in the Bitcoin network, the difference between on-chain and LN transactions, to a detailed description and application of lightning technology in practice, including practical examples of implementing various commercial solutions available in the market. The foreword to the book was written by Dominik Stroukal, followed by the first part of the publication, which serves as an excellent introduction to the issues of payments in the Bitcoin network. The next two advanced sections are intended for serious enthusiasts; the first focuses on theoretical aspects, while the second addresses practical aspects of how the Lightning Network operates, including the requirements for running your own node. The author intentionally designed the book to be beneficial for readers of all levels.
