Social services are an area that many people often consider dispensable, but only until they need help themselves or their loved ones or friends do. In social services, there work, or should work, people who have their hearts in the right place and approach their profession with a certain degree of humility, empathy, and the ability to respond to the needs of clients, whether they are children, adults with various types of health, mental, or physical disabilities, or seniors. This was demonstrated in the last two years when social services fought for their clients against the COVID-19 pandemic without losing their composure. The book compiled by Ing. Petra Cibulková, spokesperson for the Association of Social Service Providers of the Czech Republic and editor-in-chief of the magazines Social Services and Social Work Letters, presents interviews with prominent figures who have been involved in social services for many years in various positions, and introduces readers to their opinions on current issues related to this field.
