Description
In his new work, The Ruin or Preservation, the author builds on his previous works and highlights the decline of Western civilization, which he sees, unlike other authors, primarily in the decline of nature, belonging, and the pride of human reason. He aligns with other authors regarding the manifestations of decadence but sees the reasons more deeply and seeks the essential cause of the deconstruction of civilization. He views the separation from nature not only as a break with nature as a nurturer but also as a loss of natural family instincts and a loss of identity with the native community (with the nation and the state). The result is an egocentric person focused on satisfying sensory pleasures and economic interests, a person also losing collective virtues (belonging, loyalty, gratitude, unity, respect, solidarity), which disappear as unnecessary with the decline of the significance of communities. Anomie and an inability to achieve the moral overview necessary for just assessment ensue. Only personal interests and opportunistic associations play a role. Human rights become merely a tool for organized interests to limit the freedom of others. The result is visibly asymmetric demands for human rights (some apply to some, but not to others) and a complete loss of just judgment.
