Mocha coffee is a bittersweet elixir penned by the most qualified, namely a pharmacist. It touches the pains of others in places you never even knew you had within you. As long as books are created that bear witness to places that few would choose as their own home, and as long as there are people who live their lives not just for themselves, there is hope. ------------------------------ ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Stanislav Havlíček (1973) is a Czech pharmacist and participant in missions with Doctors Without Borders. He studied for a master's degree in pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Charles University in Hradec Králové. After graduation, he joined a pharmaceutical company and worked as a pharmacist in both public and hospital pharmacies. Between 2007 and 2011, he served as president of the Czech Pharmaceutical Chamber; in 2011, he was also vice president of the European Union Pharmacists' Association. ----------------------------- During his first six-month mission with the international humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders in South Sudan, he earned the nickname Son of the Buffalo and wrote a book of the same name about it.
