Description

Between the dream love and the dream journey, the soul of the traveler is torn in a difficult decision. In the end, in Peru, he turns his bike around and returns to Ecuador, where he manages to hitch a ride on a sailboat heading to Panama. There, in return, he helps the captain navigate through the Panama Canal. Later, he meets old good friends who teach him how to pick up women, which, considering he is over fifty, is high time. However, political disputes ruin even the best friendships. Traveler Petr Macourek has no choice but to continue cycling across Central America in an attempt to hitch a sailboat across the Pacific. In Costa Rica, he is caught in a flood, in Nicaragua, he is amazed by the fanaticism of the communists, in Honduras, he is twice attempted to be robbed, and a dog bites through his hand, in El Salvador, a friend from the Czech Republic joins him, who has his share of fun, and Guatemala becomes a balm for both their souls. The traveler vividly and engagingly describes his adventures, with lines interwoven with his distinctive humor, sometimes bordering on irony. Everything is human, written with the ease and playfulness characteristic of the author.
