Description
The arrival of the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic in 2020 was unexpected. The infection quickly spread almost all over the world, bringing millions of casualties. In the fight against the virus, doctors, paramedics, nurses, epidemiologists, and other healthcare workers stood on the front lines. Firefighters also helped, as did medical students and partially students from secondary health schools. Before the first vaccines were developed, fear swept across the world. Governments worldwide, in addition to the obligation to protect respiratory health, adopted various measures that restricted the free movement of people and their businesses. Sports, cultural, and social life came to a halt, and children stopped going to school. However, with the arrival of vaccination came new hope. This book presents how selected personalities from the most affected fields, namely healthcare and social care, experienced this grim period.
