From the beginnings of the early medieval Czech state and mentions of the Czech Croat tribes, through rich contacts during the Renaissance and national revival to modern history, the intense and very cordial relationships between the Czech and Croatian nations are evident. These relationships have also reflected in the lives of many significant personalities of Croatian origin whose fates are connected with the Czech lands. The publication 'Czech Croats – Croatian Traces in the Czech Lands' provides a systematic overview of these personalities who lived, worked, or still work in Bohemia, Moravia, and Silesia. The book also highlights the traces of these 'Czech Croats' in the public space in the form of local names, monuments, memorial plaques, or in architecture, and does not forget about notable Croatian visitors. A significant part of the book is also dedicated to members of the contemporary Croatian minority in the Czech Republic and the rich cultural heritage and troubled fates of the Moravian Croats who came to southern Moravia in the 16th century.
