Description
I was approached by Mr. JUDr. Emil Ščuka to write a Romani songbook, but it needed to be different from the other songbooks that we usually come across. I asked, 'What do you mean, Mr. Director?' He told me, 'Write down the music of the songs, including the lyrics and chords of prominent Romani performers, starting from the time your grandfather played, the Gondoláni brothers, up to the current musical trends.' I did so, and we divided the songbook into categories: Traditional, Rom pop, Folk, and others. The songbook contains about 120 songs, and for each song, the author and the performer who presented it during that period are listed. This songbook has a beautiful execution, both in content and graphics, as well as in its lovely words. It was a great collaboration, and I believe this songbook will be beneficial for schools, music schools, and clubs that deal with Romani music. It will certainly also please those who wish to expand their collection of Romani songs.
