Testament – Van Lustbader Eric (2019)

Bravo Shaw always suspected that his father was hiding some secret. However, it is only after his father's tragic death that he discovers how crucial that secret is. Bravo's father, Dexter Shaw, was a leading member of the Order of Gnostic Observants, which was pursued by the Knights of Saint Clement, as he had guarded a rare ecclesiastical document for centuries – the Testament attributed to Jesus Christ. The last guardian of the Testament was Dexter Shaw, who chose Bravo as his successor. Bravo gradually uncovers the treasure his father was actually protecting. Dexter left nothing to chance and concealed the precious document in a way that only Bravo, an excellent cryptanalyst and expert on the medieval period, could find it. Bravo is thus led by the mysterious clues and ciphers left by his father, and soon becomes both a target and a pawn in a ruthless war, where all parties involved seek the same thing: to seize the Testament. The Knights of Saint Clement were commanded to do so by the Pope during the Crusades, but there are also other modern-day seekers with different motives. They all know very well that the ancient document could plunge the entire world into chaos and perhaps even change history. Now it all depends on whether Bravo can win the race against time and find the Testament...
