The presented book deals with professional English in the field of emergency medicine and pre-hospital care. It is intended for medical faculty students, higher vocational school students, doctors, paramedics, nurses, English teachers, and other professionals. It draws from top-notch teaching materials currently used in Great Britain and the USA. The translations from Czech are meticulously processed according to the original texts and thoroughly practice the covered material. Correct phrases, numbered and sorted alphabetically according to the Czech alphabet, are provided in the key at the end of the textbook, where there is also an English-Czech dictionary containing the vocabulary of both parts of the textbook. In individual lessons, users can test their professional knowledge in connecting exercises (Exercise A). Translations from English to Czech summarize the acquired knowledge and serve as a basis for professional discussions and presentations (Exercise B). Questions about the texts and topics for dialogues can be found at the end of the lessons (Exercise C). Each lesson includes a detailed vocabulary with pronunciation transcription.
