Sarajevo – Holub Milan (2020)

The Museum of the Srebrenica Massacre can be found in Sarajevo on the first floor in a side street a short distance from the church. I've been there several times. I look at the photos. I leave every time someone comes who knows what is in those photos. The first time it was a German-speaking group. I didn't understand them, but I saw pain in one of the girls' eyes that reached to the end of the world, to the very edge of humanity, a pain that will never go away. A friend hugged her. The book by journalist Milan Holub was published back in 2017 in translation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where it attracted considerable attention and a significantly positive media response. The main character - the author's alter ego - uncovers dozens of stories of the city's residents in post-war Sarajevo for the readers, which he does not judge but tries to understand.
