When Kutná Hora is mentioned, most people think of legends about the Kutná Hora miners, the silhouette of St. Barbara's Cathedral, and ultimately the royal town that hides mysterious stories within its depths. Such mysterious stories can be found in the Kutná Hora Sprites, which could also be renamed 'legends woven with silver.'
It draws partly from old Kutná Hora legends and partly from the authors' imagination. The tales of sprites, devils, water spirits, and other mysterious beings continue the traditions of old Czech fairy tales. The fairy tales about the sprites from Kutná Hora bring the charm of fairy tales as they should be into the flood of modern stories. Fairy tales full of gnomes, devils, good and evil people, water spirits, and even a greedy goat, simply a glimpse into a world that – who knows – perhaps still lives its mysterious life somewhere underground and at night in Kutná Hora.
The book was created by combining the books Fairy Tales from the Silver City and Sprites under the Silver City.
