Description
Jaromír Bosák recalls the matches that significantly influenced his life. Many of them he watched as a fan, others as a television commentator. He starts at the World Cup in 1974 and moves through the famous Belgrade championship (with the even more famous penalty by Antonín Panenka) and the great matches of Czech clubs to the World Championship in 1990 in Italy with Czechoslovak participation or the silver European Championship in 1996 in England. The first part ends with the remarkable journey of the Czech team with Nedvěd, Poborský, Koller, Baroš, and Rosický at Euro 2004 in Portugal. The book, however, does not only recount the events on the field but also describes the behind-the-scenes work of commentary and the social and sporting conditions in which the matches took place.
